ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police charged a handful of motorists with offenses during the past week.
Cpl. Chris Smith arrested Lindsey Lewis, 28, of Sullivan on a charge of operating under the influence of an intoxicant Saturday.
Summonses
Trooper Travis Chapman summoned Megan Patten, 27, of Bucksport on a charge of operating after suspension Saturday on Route 1 in Sullivan. Chapman had stopped Patten for speeding.
Trooper Gavin Endre summoned Michelle Dugan, 28, of Hancock on a charge of operating after suspension on Douglas Highway in Lamoine Sept. 6.
Endre summoned Richard Smullen, 69, of Hancock on a charge of violating conditions of his release Sept. 5.
Wanted man search
Smith and police dog Winger helped Sgt. Barry Meserve and his police dog Doyle with a search for a wanted Franklin man who fled a traffic stop in Dedham Sept. 5.
The Franklin man had also provided another trooper with a false name before fleeing.
Winger picked up the man’s scent on a railroad bed where it crosses the Lily Road, police said. The dog tracked the wanted man south along the rail bed for over two miles. However, police never located the wanted man. Cpl Smith ended the search after encountering a pedestrian who had just finished a walk and advised he hadn’t seen anyone else on the rail bed.
