Bucksport Man Arrested in Shooting Over Social Media Dispute

BUCKSPORT — A dispute over a social media post led to a shooting here Thursday night outside a residence, reported Deputy Police Chief David Winchester.

The victim was shot one time, Winchester said. The man, who has not been identified, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital and released.

Police arrested the alleged shooter, Craig Woodard, 29, of Bucksport on a charge of elevated aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Friday.

The shooting was reported to police by someone who lives at the residence where the assault occurred at 6:41 p.m., according to Winchester.

Winchester said authorities do not know the nature of the Woodard’s relationship with the victim.

“I think they were at one point known to each other,” the deputy chief said.
