Katie Ford of the Ellsworth Eagle wrestling team came home with a state title after competing on Saturday in the Girls’ State Wrestling Championships at Gardiner High School.

Katie Ford of the Ellsworth Eagle wrestling team came home with a state title after competing on Saturday in the Girls’ State Wrestling Championships at Gardiner High School.

Wrestling in the 133-pound weight class, she scored an injury default win over Taylor Miller of the Bucksport Golden Bucks in the first round. She then defeated Tina Galarneau of Oak Hill with a pin in the third period to win the state title.
