Lady Bucks Defeat Eagles

ELLSWORTH — The Bucksport Golden Bucks extended their unbeaten streak to five matches on Tuesday as they downed the Ellsworth Eagles 3-1 in high school volleyball action.

Bucksport jumped out to a quick lead with a 25-9 first-game win, but the Eagles got in front early in the second game and went on to win 25-19 before the Golden Bucks put the match away with 25-15 and 25-7 victories in games three and four.

For the Golden Bucks, Victoria Grindle had 8 aces, 17 digs and 2 kills; Jen Wight contributed 7 digs, 2 kills and an assist; Madison Porter had 4 digs; and Ingrid Dovland had 5 aces, 5 digs and an assist.

For the 1-3 Eagles, Nicole Austin had 4 aces, 5 kills, 2 digs and a block; and Tiro Huntley had 7 kills, 3 aces and 3 digs.
