Ellsworth Girls Win EMITL Meet

Tori Huntley of the Ellsworth Eagles placed first in the long jump competition at Saturday’s Eastern Maine Indoor Track League competition.

ORONO — Junior Aleta Looker and senior Tori Huntley each won a pair of events as the Ellsworth Eagle girls took top honors in their division of Eastern Maine Indoor Track League competition on Saturday at the University of Maine fieldhouse.

In girls’ meet B, the Eagles finished with 76 points, followed by Central 46, Mattanawcook Academy 40, Bucksport 24 and Sumner 18.

Looker placed first in the 800-meter run in 2:20.06 and won the 200-meter run — the first time in her high school career in that event — with a time of 28.83 seconds.

Huntley won the shot put with a throw of 28 feet, 10.75 inches, and placed first in the long jump with a distance of 13 feet, 1 inch.

Other winners included Hayley Lawrence of Ellsworth in the mile run with a time of 5:57.43, Chelsea Alley of the Sumer Tigers in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:14.04 and Lisa Tapley of Bucksport in the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches.

Others who placed:

55-meter hurdles: Hannah Gignoux of Sumner, third in 12.03 seconds.

55-meter dash: Britney Eberhardt of Bucksport, third in 8.38 seconds.

Mile run: Natalie Coleman of Bucksport, third in 6:10.13.

400-meter run: Mariah Brown of Ellsworth, second in 1:14.07; Eberhardt, third in 1:19.25; Hailey Craig of Ellsworth, fourth in 1:20.93.

800-meter run: Lawrence, third in 2:51.71; Coleman, fourth in 2:55.49; Julia Zavaleta of Ellsworth, fifth in 3;05.57.

200-meter run: Alley, third in 32.35 seconds; Eberhardt, fourth in 32.49.

Shot put: Kelsey Leighton of Ellsworth, second at 27 feet, 1 inch; Elizabeth Berry of Ellsworth, third at 24 freet, 7.25 inches; Shariena Hill of Ellsworth, fifth at 22 feet, 1 inch.

Long jump: Fedeline Deleard of Ellsworth, second at 10 feet, 8.5 inches; Alex Fitch of Ellsworth, third at 10 feet, 1.5 inches; Emine Mutlu of Ellsworth, fourth at 9 feet, .75 inch.

High jump: Gignoux, fourth at 3 feet, 8 inches.

In boys’ meet B, Central was the winner with 74 points, followed by Sumner 65, Ellsworth 60, Mattanawcook 46 and Bucksport 23.

Dan Curts was a double winner for the Eagles, placing first in the mile run in 4:26.52 and the two-mile run in 9:49.47.

Dan Cox also won the shot put for the Eagles with a throw of 40 feet, 11.25 inches.

Kyle Jordan won two events for Sumner: the 200-meter run in 24.52 seconds and the high jump at 5 feet, 6 inches.

Baramee Janla won the 55-meter dash for the Tigers in 7.01 seconds.

55-meter hurdles: Alec Bisson of Sumner, fourth in 11.35 seconds.

55-meter dash: Eric Davis of Bucksport, second in 7.19 seconds; Jacob Jordan of Ellsworth, third in 7.28; Brandon St. Germain of Ellsworth, fourth in 7.31.

Mile run: Robert Looker of Ellsworth, second in 4:52.99; Frank King of Ellsworth, fourth in 5:07.70.

400-meter run: Davis, second in 55.24 seconds; Brandon Wade of Sumner, fourth in 58.12; Jason Smith of Sumner, fifth in 1:00.66.

800-meter run: Robin Doyle of Bucksport, third in 2:25.28; King, fourth in 2:27.81; Adam Hitchcock of Ellsworth, fifth in 2:28.71.

200-meter run: Janla, second in 24.63 seconds; Davis, fourth in 25.54.

Shot put: Tyler Bae of Sumner, third at 31 feet, 5.5 inches.

Long jump: Janla, second at 17 feet, 11.5 inches; St. Germain, third at 17 feet, .5 inch; Jarred Whitney of Ellsworth, fifth at 13 feet, 5 inches.

Triple jump: Jordan, second at 34 feet, 3.5 inches; Wade, third at 32 feet, 9.75 inches.

High jump: Whitney, fourth at 4 feet, 8 inches.

Four-by-880-yard relay: Sumner (Bae, Patrik Orcutt, Ian LaRiviere and Smith), second in 10:45.24.

Four-by-220-yard relay: Sumner (Bae, Samuel Barnes, Bisson and Jordan), second in 1:521.39.

In girls’ meet A, Nora Hubbell won a pair of events as the Mount Desert Island Trojans placed third.

It was Brewer the winner with 65 points, followed by John Bapst 64, MDI 60, Orono 33 and Foxcroft Academy 29.

Hubbell took top honors in the 800-meter run in 2:29.33 and the two-mile run in 12:08.78.

Mile run: Caroline Driscoll, second in 5:46.84.

400-meter run: Kayla Ray, thiord in 1:04.82.

200-meter run: Ray, third in 29.88 seconds.

Two-mile run: Driscoll, third in 12:46.25.

Shot put: Madeline Cook, third at 25 feet, 10.5 inches; Delia Hallett, fourth at 24 feet, 7.5 inches.

Long jump: Emma Fernald, second at 13 feet, 11.25 inches.

Triple jump: Fernald, third at 29 feet, 11.75 inches.

High jump: Cook, second at 3 feet, 8 inches; Hallett, third at 3 feet, 6 inches.

In boys’ meet A, it was Brewer the winner with 87 points, followed by MDI 58, Foxcroft 57, Orono 44 and John Bapst 43.

MDI’s Brandon Murphy won the 200-meter run in 24.51 seconds; Trevor Alley won the shot put with a throw of 45 feet, 10 inches; and the foursome of Murphy, Max Mason, Ralph Magnani and Will Richard won the four-by-220-yard relay in 1:40.15.

55-meter hurdles: Matt Hanna, fourth in 9:42 seconds; Magnani, fifth in 9.69.

400-meter run: Murphy, fourth in 55.53 seconds; Richard, fifth in 55.69.

800-meter run: Mason, second in 2:13.30; Aidan Robichaud-Ward, fifth in 2:20.83.

Two-mile run: Robichaud-Ward, fifth in 11:46.45.

Shot put: Chapin McFarland, third at 41 feet, 7.25 inches.

Triple jump: Hanna, third at 35 feet, 4.5 inches.

High jump: Richard, second at 5 feet, 4 inches.

Pole vault: Jordan Harris, fourth at 9 feet, 6 inches.

Four-by-880-yard relay: MDI (Dylan Harris, Robichaud-Ward, Mason and Jordan Harris), third in 9:27.75.
