ELLSWORTH — The top-ranked Ellsworth boys improved their perfect record to 14-0 on Monday with a 4-1 win over the fourth-ranked Waterville Purple Panthers (12-2) in a Class B semifinal.
The Eagle boys swept the singles competition in straight sets.
Tyler Small downed Thomas Greenspan 6-2, 6-1 at first singles, Dillon Toothaker bested Marcus Godin 6-4, 6-1 at second singles and Tyler Beardsley defeated Kyle Marrache 6-0, 6-1 at third singles.
Ellsworth’s second doubles duo of Luc Oliver and Dustin Murphy rallied from a 5-7 first set loss to defeat Ben Roy and Callum Thomas 7-5, 6-1 in the next two sets.
At first doubles, Waterville’s Matt Lynch and Nico Schultz downed Brandan Albee and Adam Toothaker 7-5, 6-4.
