ATLANTA, Ga. — A boys’ relay team from the James Russell Wiggins Down East Family YMCA set a Maine YMCA record in the 200-yard medley relay last weekend at the national YMCA Summer Long Course Championships at Georgia Institute of Technology.
The foursome of Maks Grover, Ben Walton, Talor Hamilton and Cooper Holmes broke the two-minute mark with a time of 1:59.11 in the event.
The four boys, along with Cece McEachern, qualified to represent the Ellsworth area YMCA after posting new qualifying times a week earlier at the Maine Summer Championships held across the border in St. John, N.B.
