ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Eagles withstood some defensive lapses that led to a five-run sixth inning for MDI before besting the Trojans 11-7.

ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Eagles withstood some defensive lapses that led to a five-run sixth inning for MDI before besting the Trojans 11-7.

Ellsworth jumped on the Trojans for five runs in the first inning and had built a 9-2 lead before MDI mounted its sixth-inning comeback.

The Trojans managed just five hits against Ellsworth righthander Tashia Daley, who notched nine strikeouts in the complete game win.

Daley also led the Eagles at the plate, driving in two runs with a double and two singles.

Cristin Wright also doubled twice and drove in three runs and Shaye Domagala had two singles and drove in three runs for Ellsworth.

Liz Sargent singled twice and drove in two runs for the Trojans, who finished their season with a record of 3-13.
