Lady Bucks Outlast Coyotes

BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport Golden Bucks only had eight hits — two fewer than Old Town — but they made them count in a 13-6 win on Wednesday.

The Coyotes jumped in front 3-0 in the first inning, but the Golden Bucks knotted the scored with three runs of their own — all on bases-loaded walks — in the bottom of the inning.

Bucksport took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run triple by Bailey Blair.

After the Coyotes retied the score at 5-5 in the top of the third, the Golden Bucks went ahead to stay with four runs in the bottom of the third on two-run doubles by Blair and Mindy Pye.

Pye finished with a double and two singles, Blair tripled, doubled and singled, Sarah Sutherland had a pair of singles and Sadie Wight drove in a run with a single for Bucksport.

Righthander Abby Yeo got the complete game win for the Golden Bucks, scattering 10 hits and striking out five.
