Eagles Use Triples to Beat Mariners

BLUE HILL — Righthander Lydia Clapp scattered five hits and slammed three triples to lead the GSA Eagles to a 5-1 win over the Mariners on Monday.

Clapp and Mariner righthander Sydney Ouzts were locked in a scoreless pitchers’ duel for three innings before GSA came up with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Three more runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning for GSA, and the Mariners finally put a run on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh.

Mindy Carter had an RBI double for GSA, and Abby Grindle and Hannah Siebert each doubled for the Mariners.
