DEXTER — The George Stevens Academy Eagles upset the Dexter Tigers late in the season to earn a spot in the Class C tournament.
But the sixth-ranked Tigers got their revenge on Saturday, rolling over the 11th-ranked Eagles 5-1 in a preliminary playoff.
The Tigers got a pair of goals each from Tyler Salsbury and Jared MacDonald and another from Will Pearsall, upping their record to 11-3-1.
The Dexter defense allowed the Eagles just three shots on goal, one of them by Alex Turanski finding the net for GSA’s only score.
Goalkeeper Vinnie Malinauskas had one save for Dexter and Ben Olivari made eight stops on 16 shots for the Eagles, who closed their season with a record of 7-8-0.
