Goalkeeper Callie Hammer of the Ellsworth Eagles came up with some bigs saves, but the Eagles defense was unable to contain the Caribou Vikings in a 6-1 loss on Saturday in Ellsworth.

ELLSWORTH — The George Stevens Academy Eagles became the first Hancock County girls’ team to record a fourth soccer win with a 4-1 victory over the Sumner Tigers on Friday in Blue Hill.

The Eagles, now 4-3-0 on the season, sit in the number five spot in the Maine Principals’ Association Eastern Maine Class C standings.

Behind the Eagles in Class C are the 3-3-0 Tigers in seventh place and the 2-3-1 Bucksport Golden Bucks in ninth place.

In Class B, the 3-1 Mount Desert Island Trojans are ranked fourth and the 1-4-0 Ellsworth Eagles, who notched their first win this week, are 14th among the 19 teams.

The 2-3-1 Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners are ninth in Class D.

Ellsworth 6, Washington Academy 0

The Ellsworth Eagles notched their first win on Wednesday, Sept. 18, downing the Washington Academy Raiders 6-0 in East Machias.

Details of the game were not available.

MDI 12, GSA 1

Opal Curless scored five goals and Darcy Kanu added three more as the Trojans cruised to a 12-1 win over the GSA Eagles on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Bar Harbor.

Ally Bender, Paige Mason, Emma Fernald and Natalie Klaver also contributed goals in the Trojans’ third win of the season.

For GSA, Alyssa Chesney had the lone goal as MDI goalkeeper Keely McConomy made five saves on six shots.

Megan Nowland had 14 saves on 26 shots in goal for the Eagles.

DI-Stonington 4, Searsport 4

The Mariners made the most of their 10 shots, scoring on four of them in a double overtime 4-4 tie with the Searsport Vikings on Friday in Searsport.

Natalie Klaver had three goals for the Mariners and Ashley Haskell added one.

Brooklynn Alberts made five saves in goal for the Vikings, and Logan Eaton and Allyson Eaton combined for 13 saves on 23 shots for the Mariners.

GSA 4, Sumner 1

Morgan Dauk scored twice to lead the GSA Eagles to a 4-1 win over the Tigers on Friday in Blue Hill.

Hannah Fleming scored just one minute into the game for Sumner’s only goal.

GSA’s Alice Dillon knotted the scored about nine minutes later when she drilled a cleared ball back into the net.

Alyssa Chesney gave the Eagles the lead for good less than a minute later when she scored from about 20 yards out.

Dauk scored the first of her two goals by heading in a corner kick by Chesney, and added a second tally in the second half.

Megan Nowland had five saves on six shots in goal for GSA, and Jordan Merchant and Mariah Kinghorn combined for 11 saves on 20 shots for the Tigers.

Caribou 6, Ellsworth 1

The Caribou Vikings withstood several early scoring chances by the Eagles, then unleashed an offense that scored five times in the first half en route to a 6-1 win on Saturday in Ellsworth.

Caribou got four goals from Brianna Judd and one each from Gabrielle Marquis and Sarah Doak.

The lone goal for the Eagles came early in the second half from Lauren Hale on an assist from Courtney Wasson.

Central 4, Bucksport 1

Emma Campbell scored every goal for the Central Red Devils in a 4-1 win over the Golden Bucks on Saturday in East Corinth.

Eliza Hosford had the only goal for Bucksport.

The Red Devils outshot the Golden Bucks 24-7 with Madysen Robichaud making 13 saves for Bucksport and Aly Crocker three saves for Central.

Sumner 2, DI-Stonington 1

A pair of first-half goals lifted the Tigers to a 2-1 win over the Mariners on Monday in Sullivan.

Hannah Fleming scored first for the Tigers and Casco Haley added a goal four minutes later.

Allison Eaton had the only goal for the Mariners.

Jordan Merchant made six saves on seven shots for the Tigers, and Logan Eaton and Allyson Eaton combined for 10 saves on 13 shots for the Mariners.

Bucksport 4, Washington Academy 2

Three goals by Eliza Hosford and another by Jasmine McDonald on an assist from Hosford gave the Golden Bucks a 4-2 win over the Washington Academy Raiders on Monday in Bucksport.

Goalkeeper Madysen Robichaud had 14 saves on 19 shots for Bucksport, and Paige Sinford made nine stops on 15 shots for the Raiders.

Orono 4, GSA 1

The Orono Red Riots claimed their second win of the season over GSA on Monday, downing the Eagles 4-1 in Blue Hill.
