BAR HARBOR — The Ellsworth Eagle boys upped their record to 4-0-1 on Monday, posting their fourth consecutive shutout with a 3-0 win over the Mount Desert Island Trojans.
The game was scoreless for most of the first half, but with 3:40 still on the clock, Ellsworth’s Dagan Berenyi scored on an assist from Jack Weeks, and Ben Haslam added another goal on an assist from Anthony Gardner before halftime.
Ellsworth’s offensive pressure kept the Trojans in their defensive half of the field for most of the second period, and Alex Braley capped the scoring for the Eagles, punching in a rebound after MDI goalkeeper Simon Hulbert made a diving block of a first Eagle shot.
Eagle goalkeeper Steven Mahon made two saves on just two MDI shots, and Hulbert finished with five saves on eight shots.
