Acadia Fire U12 boys claim Maine Northern regional title

BANGOR — The Acadia Fire U12 boys’ team capped off an undefeated season Sunday afternoon with a victory in the Maine Northern regional championship game.

The team, coached by Andy Odeen, earned a 1-0 win over Bangor in the final. The win concluded a 9-0 campaign that began with practices in late August and the first games in mid-September.

Members of the Acadia Fire U12 team were Wyatt Braun, Camden Bunnell, Ben Dudeck, Finn Grimnes, Kasper Hansen, Joe’l Kanareff, Jay Lester, Kemper Odeen, Lucas Olson, Bode Phillips, Riley Smith, Ewan Tunney and Boden VanDorn. Those players hailed from Ellsworth, Blue Hill, Mount Desert Island, Hancock and Lamoine.

“We are so proud of Coach Odeen and his players and the strong effort they have put into a successful season,” Acadia Fire Executive Director Emily Ellis said.

The Acadia Fire’ U10 boys’ team went undefeated this year with its only non-victory coming in a draw. The U14 boys and girls also had solid seasons despite concluding their respective campaigns due to possible COVID-19 exposure.

Acadia Fire will be holding Maine State Premier League tryouts this coming Saturday, Nov. 7, for players born between 2002 and 2013. For more information, go to or contact Ellis via email at [email protected]
