Wilbur’s Run to be held Sept. 1 at Blue Hill Fairgrounds



BLUE HILL — The sixth edition of Wilbur’s Run is scheduled to be held Sept. 1 at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds.

The race, which is held annually as part of the Blue Hill Fair’s Saturday festivities, is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. following registration at 7 and a fun run for children at 7:30. The cost to register is $20, and the first 50 runners to do so will receive a free T-shirt.

Evan Merchant of Beals was the overall winner last year with a time of 17 minutes, 44 seconds, and Abbey Frost of Ellsworth was the women’s winner with a time of 23:30.27. Phil LeBreton of Blue Hill won the 2016 race with a time of 17:35, and Haley Harwood of Portland crossed the finish line in 20:56 to be crowned the top women’s finisher.
