BUCKSPORT — This year’s running of the Tour du Lac 10-Mile Road Race is scheduled to be held Saturday, June 29.
After starting at Bucksport’s town swimming pool, the course will lead runners onto Millvale Road and Charlie Cole Road before rounding scenic Silver Lake. It will then take runners down School Street, Central Street and Broadway before finishing back at the original starting point.
This year marks the 44th running of the race. Erik McCarthy of Old Town won the race for the second straight year last year with a finishing time of 52 minutes, 53 seconds, and Tracy Guerrette of Bangor posted a time of 1:01.64 to finish as the top female runner for the third year in a row.
A free T-shirt will be given to the race’s first 50 registrants. Those wishing to register on race day can do so beginning at 6:30 a.m. at the pool. This year’s registration fee is $20.
