BAR HARBOR — Ann Scott, who summers in Pretty Marsh with her husband Ron, competed in the U. S. National Senior Olympics in Palo Alto, Calif. which began on Aug. 1 and ran through Aug. 15. Scott competed in the 100 and 200-meter dash.
Scott qualified for the national competition by placing second in both events in the Florida State Senior Track and Field Championships, where she winters in Ocala.
Scott earned a 12th place in the 100-meter dash. She ran a 16.76-second race to qualify for the semifinal run. In the semis she bettered her time by nearly two-tenths of a second with a 16.59 finish.
In the 200-meter dash, Scott ran to a 35.57-second finishing time to qualify for the semi-final competition. A time of 36.80-seconds gave her the 11th-place finish overall.
