20th annual Cadillac Challenge Bicycle Ride

BAR HARBOR — Nearly 130 hardy riders participated in the 20th annual Cadillac Challenge Bicycle Ride Monday under challenging conditions.

The group removed Cadillac Mountain from the ride course during the event as the rain, wind and dense fog, combined with bus traffic from cruise ships, made bicycling up and down the mountain unsafe.

A group spokesman said the organization appreciates the hard work of a small core of committed volunteers, and especially the enthusiastic riders who continue to make this event a success.
