Martel Remains Causeway Champ

Jack Martel of Southwest Harbor, left retained his title as Causeway Club champion following match play last weekend. With him is club pro Ben Rowell.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Jack Martel is the Causeway Club’s Men’s Golf Champion. He beat Mike Harkins (who was playing in his first Club Championship final match) 13 and 12 to regain the title for the 11th time.

After 18 holes in the championship, Martel was 8 up over Harkins.

Also at the Causeway Club, Jordan Hodgdon won his first Junior Golf Championship by 6 shots. In second place was Cole Greaves, followed by Drew Hopkins in third.

And on Men’s Golf Day, Thursday, Jim Sawyer, Ken Hardick, and Joel Mitchell won with a score of 56. in second place was Chuck Merriam, Ray Hicks and Harry Saunders with 60. Closest to the pin on the sixth hole was Harry Saunders at 4 feet, 3 inches.
