KidsPeace golf scramble raises more than $6,600

DEDHAM — The inaugural KidsPeace New England Charity Golf Scramble was held recently with remarkable success.

Organizers raised more than $6,600 from the June 26 scramble at Dedham’s Lucerne Golf Club. More than 40 people participated in the event, which was first announced in May.

“Everyone enjoyed a beautiful day on the golf course,” KidsPeace New England Executive Director Rachel Bousquet said in a statement. “They helped provide much-needed support for our kids.”

Sponsors for the event were Lucerne Golf Club, presenting sponsor Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, Coston & McIsaac, Darling’s, Dead River Co., E. Skip Grindle and Sons, Jersey’s Subs, Mainely Pest, the Nickels family, One Cumberland Place, Rising Virtue No. 10 Lodge and the Rotary Club of Ellsworth. The winning team consist of Jeremy Bousquet, Dick Gassett, Tom Winston and John Donato.

“We could not be happier with the level of support we have received from the community, especially from the Lucerne Golf Course and all of our very special sponsors,” Rachel Bousquet said. “They made our inaugural golf event a true success.”

Proceeds from the event will go toward children’s items such as birthday and holiday gifts and events such as field trips and parties for those in KidsPeace care.
