EFL 5th and 6th Graders Fall to Old Town

OLD TOWN — The Ellsworth fifth- and sixth-graders battled Old Town from start to finish before falling 18-14 on Saturday.

Trailing 12-0, Ellsworth moved the ball 70 yards to the Old Town six-yard line on a pass from Xan Rush to Zach Harris, and Jacob Shorey took the ball into the end zone for a touchdown in the first half.

Bradley Smith scored on a 12-yard touchdown run and the two-point conversion was good, giving Ellsworth a 14-12 lead in the fourth quarter.

But Old Town scored the game-winning touchdown with just 40 seconds to go.
