Trojans Hold On To Beat Lynx

BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island Trojans continued their late-season surge, downing the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx 61-55 on Saturday.

The 8-6 Trojans, now ranked 10th in Eastern Maine Class B, are making a strong bid for post-season play.

MDI jumped in front early and held period leads of 14-6, 26-22 and 47-37 en route to the win.

The Trojans got double-figure scoring from four players. Jayson Burke led the way with 17 points, Nate Chisholm added 16 and Caleb MacDonald and Ben Walls chipped in with 10 each.

Wayne Campbell led the Lynx with 16 points and Derek Gardner had 14.
