Mariners Sink Eagles

BLUE HILL — The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners took a 16-14 lead near the end of the second period and never let it get away in downing the GSA Eagles 53-37 on Friday.

Sam Grindle sparked the Mariners, scoring 18 of his game-high 26 points in the first half.

The host Eagles managed just five points in the final quarter.

Hayden Ciomei added 10 points for the Mariners and Jasper Adam led GSA with 12 points.
