Lady Trojans Suffer First Loss

CARIBOU — MDI fell below the 40-point mark for the first time this season, getting off to a slow start in a 30-29 loss to the Caribou Vikings.

The Trojans limited the Vikings to just three points, all from the foul line, in the final period but could not quite complete a comeback that saw them nearly erase a nine-point deficit.

Megan Phelps finished with 13 points for the 6-1 Trojans, who currently are ranked second, trailing only unbeaten Presque Isle, in the Eastern Maine Class B standings.

Jenna Selander provided the lion’s share of the Caribou offense with 16 points.
