Lady Riots Give Bucks First Loss

ORONO — The Orono Red Riots knocked the Bucksport Golden Bucks from the ranks of the unbeaten on Thursday with an 18-1 third period run that led to a 50-33 win.

Elea Kass had 11 of her 13 points in the span of less than three minutes in the third quarter to help the Red Riots to their fifth win.

The Golden Bucks also hurt their own cause with 29 turnovers.

Mindy Pye led Bucksport with 16 points and Shelby Redman had nine points and 12 rebounds.
