Sam Smith of the Sumner Tigers makes a move on Jonesport-Beals defender Sam Lyons in Sumner’s 82-53 loss to the unbeaten Royals on Saturday in Sullivan.

With senior Garet Beal’s 41 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists leading the way, the Jonesport-Beals Royals romped to an 82-53 win over the Tigers on Saturday in Sullivan.

The Royal’s defensive pressure caused major problems for the Tigers, especially in the first half.

Cole Beal and Leon Smith combined for 16 steals for the game and converted many of them to baskets for the Royals.

The unbeaten Royals grabbed a 21-11 lead in the first period and held a 46-21 edge at halftime as Garet Beal scored 14 of his points in the second quarter.

Sam Smith scored 18 points and Tylor Martin added 13 for the Tigers.
