Eagles Pull Away to Beat Lynx

ELLSWORTH — The Eagles got another strong scoring performance from Petros, who tossed in 25 points as Ellsworth pulled away in the second half to a 62-51 win over the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx on Thursday at Ellsworth.

The Lynx matched the Eagles basket for basket through the first half, with Ellsworth leading 14-12 after one period and 30-29 at halftime.

But Petros hit 15 of his 25 points in the second half and the Eagles opened up a 44-37 lead in the third quarter and expanded the margin by another four points in the final period.

Senior Brad Folmer contributed 14 points as Ellsworth won for the third time in four outings.
