BUCKSPORT — Despite shooting just 25 percent from the floor, the Bucksport Golden Bucks rallied in the fourth period to edge the Searsport Vikings 34-32 on Tuesday for their fourth consecutive win.
“It was an ugly game,” said coach Josh Tripp. “We shot 14-for-56 from the field and were down the whole game until the fourth quarter.”
The Golden Bucks got a big lift from Mitchell Burgess, who had all of his eight points in the fourth period and came up with six steals.
Bucksport managed just four points in the opening period and trailed 14-13 at halftime and 28-24 at the end of three periods.
Josh Gray led the scoring for the Golden Bucks with 13 points, Mike Cummings chipped in with seven and Mat Swazey, while held to just four points, pulled down 14 rebounds.
Shane Seekins led the 1-4 Vikings with a game-high 14 points and Buddy Ellis and Milton Jones had eight each.
