Trojans Rally Against Crusaders



BAR HARBOR — Trailing 7-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Trojans cut the John Bapst lead to a single run, then scored the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on Monday.

BAR HARBOR — Trailing 7-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Trojans cut the John Bapst lead to a single run, then scored the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on Monday.Dennis O’Neil’s three-run triple was the big blow in the sixth inning rally.

In the seventh, Peter Logue led off with a single. Two outs later, his brother, Robbie, reached base on an error and Nick Shaw followed with a single to drive in Peter Logue.

Moments later, a pitch got past Crusader catcher Bill Weatherbee and Robbie Logue raced all the way from second with the winning run.

O’Neil started on the mound for 2-0 MDI, getting relief help from Kyle McKim in the sixth inning.

Devin Young doubled and Peter Logue had a pair of singles in MDI’s eight-hit attack.

For the Crusaders, Keith Nelson drove in three runs with three singles and Chris Hammond drove in two runs with a double and two singles.
