Trenton Acadians Boost Record to 5-2

BLUE HILL — On Sunday at Blue Hill, the Acadians got five strong innings from righthander John Carlin en route to a 7-2 win over Lincoln.

Carlin pitched out of a big jam in the first inning. After issuing three walks and an RBI single to Justin Pelkey with one out, Carlin retired the next two batters to avoid further scoring.

He then pitched shutout ball for three innings before giving up the second run in the fifth on two singles, a stolen base and an RBI single by Andy Kay.

Carlin finished with six strikeouts in five innings, and lefthander Adam Kaspala pitched scoreless and hitless relief for the final two innings.

Trenton scored five runs in the fifth inning on a one-out bunt single by Garrett Kaspala, two walks, an RBI single by Ciomei, a two-run single by Tweedie and a two-run fly ball error by the Logrollers.

Steve Zirnkilton also had an RBI double and Nick Saunders contributed an RBI single for Trenton.
