Senior League: Acadian Advances to Championship Round

BLUE HILL — Senior League teams from the Blue Hill/Deer Isle area and Mount Desert Island are slated to meet Wednesday night in the championship round of the Senior League District 1 All-Star baseball tournament.

Acadian of MDI advanced by eliminating Calais 4-0 on Monday in Bar Harbor behind the one-hit pitching of Adam Gray, who went six-plus innings on the mound before running into trouble in the bottom of the seventh.

Gray and Colin Mooers combined for four of Acadian’s seven hits, each driving in a run with two singles, and Steven Hanscom had an RBI double.

A win in Wednesday’s game would give unbeaten Coastal the District 1 title.

Should Acadian win, they must face Coastal in a second game scheduled for Friday.
