Mariners Obliterate Wolverines

DEER ISLE — The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners unleashed a potent offense on Saturday, pounding out 34 hits in two games as they swept a doubleheader from the Schenck Wolverines.

In the 19-2 first game win, Connor Morey drove in three runs with a double and two singles, Oliver Lawson drove in two with a double and a single and Jake Starkey drove in three more with three singles.

Mariner pitchers Joe Condon and Hayden Ciomei combined for a five-inning two-hitter.

In the 14-0 second game win, the Mariners got shutout pitching from a trio of hurlers.

Condon drove in three runs with a double and two singles to lead the Mariners at the plate.
