In a 9-0 win over the Coastal All-stars of Blue Hill, Christiansen allowed just one hit in five and two-thirds innings.
Nick Bagley led the Ellsworth offense with a double and a triple, driving in three runs, and Cooper Henderson had a pair of singles to drive in two runs.
The win gave Ellsworth the Maine District 1 championship, and the team will now face the Distrist 3 champion in the opening game of the state tournament on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bangor’s Mansfield Stadium.
The Ellsworth All-stars scored the only run they needed in the second inning against Coastal righthander Garrison Looke.
Chris Barnes singled and went to second on an errant throw from the outfield.
One out later, Troy Folmer reached base on an error, moving Barnes to third. Barnes then scored on a sacrifice fly by Sam Giffin.
Ellsworth added four more runs in the bottom of the third.
With one out, Zack Harris singled and Bagley doubled, with Harris scoring and Bagley advancing to third on a throw past third base.
Henderson then singled to drive in Bagley and scored when Christiansen reached base and raced all the way to third on an error.
Folmer reached base on yet another error with Christiansen scoring for a 5-0 Ellsworth lead.
Four more runs crossed the plate for Ellsworth in the fourth inning.
Zack McGraw drew a walk and Jack Lee was safe at first when his bunt was misplayed.
One out later, Bagley drove in both runners with a triple, bringing righthander Jacob Keenan on for Coastal in relief of Looke.
Henderson greeted Keenan with a single, driving in Bagley, and a walk to Barnes was followed by a Christiansen single that plated Henderson with Ellsworth’s final run.
The only hits for Coastal were a fifth inning single by Nick Bianco and a seventh inning single by Ethan Shepard.
