Eagles Split Doubleheader with Vikings

CARIBOU — Righthander Thomas Sawyer pitched a complete game five-hitter as the Eagles downed the Caribou Vikings 12-5 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader.

The Eagles provided plenty of support at the plate as Jordan Carter drove in three runs with two doubles and a single, Seth Cote drove in two runs with a pair of singles and Cote Card had two singles.

The Vikings rebounded to win the second game 9-7, coming up with three runs, including the game-winner, in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Card drove in two runs with a triple and a double and Ross Saunders had an RBI single for the Eagles in the loss.
