Eagles Pound Bucks

BLUE HILL — The Eagles jumped on the Golden Bucks for seven runs in the first inning and cruised to a 10-3 win on Thursday.

GSA sent 12 batters to the plate in the first inning against righthander Tim Nason.

Peter Dickinson had a double and a single, Nick Saunders tripled and Cam Lawson, Nick Kane, Jesse Dow and Josh Gale all had singles to go with three walks and a couple of wild pitches in the inning.

The Golden Bucks loaded the bases against Dickinson, GSA’s ace righthander, in the second inning but couldn’t score.

But Bucksport got a run in the third when Steve Klenowski, who reached base on an error, scored on a sacrifice fly by Cam Wentworth.

The Eagles added a run in the fourth on a double by Nick Saunders and an RBI single by Kane.

Bucksport cut the lead to 8-3 in the sixth on singles by Ryan Bailey and Cody Farrell, a hit batter, an RBI single by Kyle McGeechan and an RBI groundout by Tyler French.

The Eagles got their final two runs in the bottom of the inning.

With two outs, Tommy Crowe walked and scored on a single by Dow. Kane then walked and Sam Eley followed with a grounder to shortstop with Dow scoring on the errant throw to first base.
