BLUE HILL — Mixing a good fastball with an occasional curveball, GSA righthander Nick Saunders allowed just two hits and struck out 10 batters in pitching the Eagles to an 8-0 win over the Narraguagus Knights on Thursday.

Saunders, who walked just two batters, yielded only a couple of harmless singles to Colby Tucker of the eighth-ranked Knights in the Class C quarterfinal.

The Eagles took a 2-0 first inning lead against righthander Jeremy Look, who started on the mound for Narraguagus.

Leadoff batter Peter Dickinson drew a walk, stole second and went to third as Cameron Lawson was retired on a fly ball to center field. Saunders then grounded out to second with Dickinson scoring.

Jesse Dow then singled and stole second and scored on a single by Nick Kane.

The Eagles added two more runs in the second inning on a double by Rashad Frazier, an RBI double by Sam Eley and a sacrifice fly by Dickinson.

Two more runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning and the Eagles capped their scoring with two runs in the sixth, finishing with 11 hits, including a double and a single by Frazier and two singles by Kane.
