Bucks Romp Eagles

BUCKSPORT — Righthander Tyler French allowed only a harmless leadoff single by Andrew Austin as he pitched the Bucksport Golden Bucks over the Ellsworth Eagles 10-0 on Thursday.

Ryan Bailey doubled in the first inning and later scored on an Ellsworth error to give Bucksport the only run it needed.

But the Golden Bucks ripped Ellsworth pitchers Delbert Beckwith and Bobby Box for 13 hits before they were through.

Singles by Billy DeRedin, French and Tyler McAllian loaded the bases for Evan Eldridge, who slammed a two-run double in a three-run third inning for Bucksport.

The Golden Bucks got a solo home run from DeRedin in the fourth, and a three-run homer from Shawn Smith and an RBI single from Eldridge in a five-run fifth inning.
