AGES 11-12: Ellsworth Out Duels Coastal

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth rallied for four runs in the last two innings to down previously unbeaten Coastal 4-2 in Little League District 1 All-star baseball action for ages 11 and 12 on Wednesday at DeMeyer Field.

Coastal had scored single runs in the third and fifth innings and pitcher Garrison Looke had pitched five scoreless innings before Ellsworth broke through in the sixth.

Trent Mahon tripled for Ellsworth and Cooper Henderson followed with a two-run homer to knot the score at 2-2.

Then, in the seventh inning, Zack McGraw doubled and scored on a double by Troy Folmer, who then stole third and scored when the catcher’s throw to third was off the mark.

Henderson also contributed a double and McGraw and Folmer also had singles for Ellsworth.

Hunter Cote started on the mound for Ellsworth and gave up five hits and both Coastal runs before Nick Bagley came on in the fifth inning and pitched two-plus innings, allowing no hits and striking out six.

Taylor Schildroth singled twice and Looke had an RBI single for Coastal.
