HAMPDEN — The Bucksport girls’ soccer team capped off a perfect season on Saturday, Nov. 5, winning the program’s first-ever Class C state championship with a 2-1 victory over Maranacook.

The win was perhaps made even sweeter by the fact that it came against Maranacook. The Black Bears handed the Bucks their only loss last year, a 5-0 drubbing in the 2021 state championship match. The sting from that loss carried over and drove this Bucksport team throughout the entire 2022 season.
