ELLSWORTH — Chris Sarro of Ellsworth improved his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship record to 2-0 with a win in his BKFC 11 bout Friday in Oxford, Miss.
The win came via a TKO of opponent Victor Jones of Ionia, Mich., with 10 seconds remaining in the opening round. Sarro delivered two powerful right-hand jabs in quick succession to send his opponent to the mat, and Jones was unable to recover in time to beat the 10-second count.
The bout was Sarro’s second of a three-fight contract signed following a New England Fights win over Ras Hylton of South Portland last September. He made his BKFC debut Nov. 16 when he knocked out John McAllister of Follansbee, W.Va., with a straight right 1:32 into the opening round.
BKFC is a mixed martial arts competition in which fighters are prohibited from taping hands within 1 inch of their knuckles. Bare-knuckle fighting is legalized in the states of Alabama, Florida, Kansas, Mississippi, New Hampshire and Wyoming.
Information about Sarro’s next fight will be made available at a later date.
