CASTINE — Junior Andrew DiSalvo (Glastonbury, Ct.) collected eight points, propelling Maine Maritime Academy to a 17-1 win over Thomas College Wednesday evening in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men’s lacrosse action.
With the win MMA evens its record at 3-3, and 2-2 in conference play. Thomas falls to 2-6, 2-1.
Chris Keiley (Holliston, Ma.), Tom Houle (Manchester, Nh.) and DiSalvo all led the Mariners with three goals each while DiSalvo led the charge with five assists. Brian Corain (Berwick), Wade Mondoux (No. Berwick), and Alex Hermes (Fallingston, Pa.) each chipped in with two goals while Todd Murphy (Middlesex, Vt.) and Nick Lund (Alfred, Me.) each had single goals.
Bradley Stiles (Westbrook) notched the only goal of the game for the Terriers.
Maine Maritime led 5-0 after the first period, getting goals from five different players in that time. MMA exploded for seven second period goals led by two Keiley markers forty seconds apart to help push MMA to a 12-0 half time lead.
Maine Maritime would score the next five goals before Thomas capped off the scoring with five minutes to play in the game.
Maine Maritime held a 50-24 advantage in the shot column and dominated the face off circle winning 17 of the 21 taken.
Erik Milles (Bangor) collected the win for the Mariners, making seven saves, while Jesse Morkeski (Damariscotta) took the loss for Thomas despite making 15 saves.
