CASTINE — Christopher Keiley scored six goals and provided four assists as the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners crushed Green Mountain College 20-2 in their lacrosse season opener on Saturday at Ritchie Field.

MMA freshman Andrew Di-Salvo had a strong debut with 10 points, including seven assists.
Senior Garret Lake and sophomore Todd Murphy each contributed three goals, and sophomore Wade Mondoux had a goal and three assists.

For Green Mountain, Chris Wetzel and Thomas Wheeler each scored and goalkeeper Steve Braunius had a busy afternoon with 14 saves on 50 MMA shots.
The Mariners were slated to continue their North Atlantic Conference play yesterday (Wednesday), hosting Thomas College, and they will host St. Joseph College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
