GSA’s Hassett wins Searsport Invitational



ELLSWORTH — It was another race and another decisive victory for George Stevens Academy’s John Hassett.

The GSA senior continued his domination of the cross-country season by finishing 32 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor at Friday’s Searsport Invitational. His performance helped the Eagles edge past Mount Desert Island in the team portion of the event.

On the girls’ side, MDI’s Tia Tardy won her second race of the season with a finish that was a full minute ahead of the next competitor. The Trojans finished above GSA by a single point in the overall team competition. Below is a list of the top-10 individual finishers and all team scores for both the boys’ and girls’ events.
