GSA baseball team scores 31 runs in first three games



BLUE HILL — The George Stevens Academy baseball team scored 31 runs while allowing just one over its first three games.

Following their 10-0 season-opening win over Sumner (0-1), the Eagles (3-0) notched double-digit victories over Washington Academy (1-2) and Ellsworth (0-2) in the past week by scores of 11-1 and 10-0.

Hermon 2, Ellsworth 0

Ellsworth had singles from Austin Baron and Jack Lee en route to its loss to Hermon (3-0) on Tuesday.

Dexter 7, Bucksport 5

Tanner Stegner, Chase Carmichael, Dustin Colson, Hayden Craig, Andy Allan and Austin Mason each contributed a single for Bucksport (1-2) in its loss to Dexter (1-2) on Saturday.

Foxcroft 3, MDI 1

Stanley Grierson tripled in Mount Desert Island’s (1-1) only run in the sixth inning of Saturday’s loss to Foxcroft (3-0).

Searsport 10, DI-S 0

Deer Isle-Stonington (0-1) lost to Searsport (3-0) on Friday.

MDI 13, Bucksport 3

MDI scored 13 runs on 14 hits to roll past Bucksport on Thursday.

For MDI, Riley Swanson went 4-for-4, including two doubles and two RBIs. Nick Stavely, Stanley Grierson, Seth Young and Jacob Mitchell contributed two hits apiece.

Bucksport was led by Tanner Stegner with two singles. Jake Gauvin, Riley Macleod and Austin Mason each had RBI hits.
