Ellsworth native wins second paraclimbing world championship

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth native Maureen Beck won a gold medal Friday in Paris for paraclimbing in the International Federal of Sport Climbing’s World Championship.

This is Beck’s second world championship. She also won in Spain in 2014.

Beck, who was born without her left hand, lives in Colorado now with her husband, Bryan.

The climber has won five national championships.
