Phil Grant [“President Trump is getting it done,” Jan. 4] presents a classic example of the famous quote by Daniel Patrick Moynihan: “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.”
Mr. Grant takes the time to offer us a rehashed and lightly edited list of far-right opinions, presenting them as facts. It would be easy enough to dispel them, but it would be a wasted effort on Mr. Grant and those who believe in the current President.
What about the organization Mr. Grant quotes from? Faith & Freedom is a far-right religious organization. Its “principles” are lofty; its actions, not so much. Its leader is Ralph Reed. Remember him as the disgraced head of the Christian Coalition with ties to the criminal Jack Abramoff? If that’s who Mr. Grant follows, so be it, but he adds nothing to the conversation by, time and again, listing the thoughts of others, his offensive remarks and dispersions of those who don’t agree with him.
