I am so delighted to recommend Kylie Bragdon for Maine State House of Representatives in District 136. I have been privileged to know Kylie and her family for years, and I know she will work hard and honestly for ordinary people like myself when she gets to Augusta. Kylie says she considers herself a “hometown girl” and lobster fisherman, despite having a whole list of accomplishments in the wider world. For example, she is getting her doctorate in educational leadership from UNE, and casually says she expects to defend her dissertation right about election time. She does admit to being “highly caffeinated.” She is simultaneously the principal at KidsPeace and chairwoman of the Winter Harbor Board of Selectmen. Her resume shows she’s still available as a personal trainer. She’s been a math teacher.
Kylie is interested largely in nuts-and-bolts issues like methods to prevent fishing gear from being destroyed by cruise ships. She wants to promote education and preserve traditional livelihoods. She wants to protect services for the elderly and disabled. She is running against Republican William Faulkingham in a district that includes the towns of Gouldsboro, Hancock, Mariaville, Osborn, Sorrento, Steuben, Sullivan, Waltham, Winter Harbor, Fletchers Landing Township and part of the unorganized territories of East Hancock. I can’t wait to vote for Kylie and I hope you will, too.
