Today we close the Black House for the winter after another joyous Christmas at Woodlawn. On behalf of our trustees and staff, I would like to publicly thank the many people who worked with us to make this community event an extra special one this year. Our annual custom of inviting the business and non-profit community to fill the Black House with decorated trees continues to grow. We were delighted to have nearly 40 businesses and organizations bring their creativity to Woodlawn this season. All the tree decorators are listed on our website and you can enjoy photos of their trees on our Facebook page. Each helped us achieve our goal, which was to have the Black House bursting with holiday spirit for our tour and tea guests to enjoy.
We would also like to thank our volunteers who worked to add extra decorations and helped with our school programs. We were pleased to welcome 434 students this December.
All this community support has Woodlawn ending 2018 on a wonderfully high note. We wish you and yours happy holidays and a prosperous New Year! We look forward to seeing you at Woodlawn in 2019.
