“I miss the snow”

Dear Editor:

I miss the snow

I’ve missed it all summer

Memories of the big bold snow flakes keep coming back to me

I miss the way the snowflakes catch my eyelashes and lay down inside my scarf

I miss catching the snowflakes on my tongue and

feeling the sparkle

I miss the island

The breeze that comes off the ocean and picks up on the scent of the pine trees and touches down softly on my face

I miss the sky … a sky so big … that when it is dark … you can see every star

I miss home … I’ve been away so long

I miss the rhythm of my life … my family … my friends

I miss the snow
