Helpful stranger

Dear Editor:

Today my husband and I were struggling to load and tie down lumber for our camp on the roof of our car at EBS with a web of bungies. Another customer came over and spent the next 10 minutes helping secure it, even though he was busy and also picking up lumber. He said he worked for Jordans in Waltham. It’s such a pleasure to meet someone so friendly and helpful these days, and I want him to know it matters a lot. It’s the little kindnesses that keep us going in life. We’ll pay it forward.
